Well, it seems that it wasn't a fluke. This morning I was awakened in a similar fashion....heard crying, looked at monitor, and she had flipped herself over! I can't believe she's doing this and she's not even 3 months yet! Looks like we might have a little gymnast like her mommy!!
She's still trying really hard to roll over during the day. It turns out that it's easier for her to roll while swaddled - I think because the arms are tucked away and don't get in the way! As for swaddling....we've got our new approach. Last night I swaddled her but left one arm free. That way she still feels snug as a bug in a rug, but has some freedom & can use that arm if she flips over. I feel good about this middle of the road option!

Here's a picture of her yesterday in between trying to roll over unswaddled. I thought she might make it because she was using Skylar as a footrest & thought that might give her some extra leverage, but she didn't quite make it. Luckily Skylar has totally come to accept Mackenzie & didn't even budge through the many kicks she endured from Mackenzie during this episode!

Wow - you do have a little gymnast! The video is adorable - she's trying SO HARD to turn over. I hope you get some more sleep soon!
And your observation about the Christmas tree getting was correct. It was 33 degrees and windy and D wore a t-shirt. Some folks never grow up.
