After spending the weekend with my family in Talla- hassee, Mackenzie & I went with Meemi (Brannon's mom) over to Amelia Island on Monday for a week of fun in the sun! We had to warm up to taking Mackenzie actually to the beach (the boys arrived after we did & we wanted their help!). So, on Tuesday morning, we started easy with a trip to the pool in their condo complex. I'm glad we started easy, because between getting her dressed, us dressed, covering her in sunblock, packing all our gear and walking a few yards to the pool - we were amused at how quickly it seemed she was tired and ready for her morning nap! Oh well, even if we only swam for 20-30 minutes, it was enough to tucker her out for a nice long nap!.
Then, that afternoon we headed over to see Brannon's cousin (Genn) and her three little ones. The older two girls were ecstatic over Mackenzie & getting to play with her, give her a bottle, etc. They were a little disappointed that she couldn't walk or run around after them! But they adjusted quickly to helping her walk around :) We had dinner with them & headed back to meet Poppee at the condo that night. Meemi & I had to laugh when Genn & her kids left at how calm it suddenly became & here we had been feeling all day that taking care of Mackenzie was a lot of work! They made our work seem like a walk in the park :) (Momentarily, anyways!).
