Mackenzie is 11 Months Old!

Hi all!  Mackenzie here.  I'm actually 11 Months, 1 Week, and 6 Days when Mommy finally got around to taking my 11 Month shots!  She keeps telling me I'm so active now, she has less time to sit and blog during the day.

Anyways, this past month has been an exciting one for everyone since I started walking.  I walk all over the place now.  And over the last week or so, I have gotten to the point where I pretty much prefer walking over crawling.  For a while, I would walk until I lost my balance, fall, and then crawl from there. Now, if I fall (which is becoming more rare!), I get back into a squatted position and push myself back up to standing and proceed to walk to wherever I was going.  I'm such a big girl now!

I'm also communicating more & more each day.  I can now consistently sign 'All Done' and 'More' during meals.  I can say mama & da (daddy), though I mostly only say mama when I'm upset!  I still say dah (dog), but not as often as when I first figured out that I could say it!  And my latest word is uh-uh (uh-oh) whenever I (purposely) drop something!  I still love to point at EVERYTHING and say 'dat' (that?) and want people to tell me what 'that' is or give 'that' to me!  I wave bye-bye most of the time now.  And as mommy has mentioned before, I LOVE to talk on a cell phone! 

Mommy says it's interesting to see how much I'm understanding even though I don't have words for things yet.  For instance, I know how to turn on & off the lights & everytime we enter/leave a room, mommy picks me up and takes me to the light switch & tells me to turn on/off the light.  And I do it every time & I'm so pleased with myself when I see the fact that I successfully turned the light on/off.  There seems to be lots of little things like this that I now understand & can do.  I'm also showing more of an interest in books.  I've always liked books, but mostly liked to turn the pages more than the story.  Now, I seem to be more interested in the words - at least for a few pages anyways!

My personality is showing itself more & more these days.  Mommy & Daddy think I might be a bit of a strong-willed child.  I can get really frustrated easily when I can't do something or I'm told 'no'.  I seem to want to be able to do everything NOW.  If I fall while walking (& don't bump myself) I'll sometimes whine seemingly out of frustration!  But I'm also a fun-loving, active little thing.  I love to be flipped around by my daddy, love to go out & about & get bored at home, love my doggie, and love to be played with on the floor.  

In other updates, I've started my mother's morning out program and will be going there every Tuesday & Thursday mornings.  I miss mommy a bit, but I think I'm gonna like it.  Only one problem, the teachers don't seem to like me huggin' the other kids.  Not sure why that is!

Well, that's about it for now.  Only a few weeks to go and I'll be one year old!!  Can you believe it???  Time sure does fly when you're having fun :)
