My Big Girl! (Relatively Speaking, I guess)

So, Mackenzie went for her 9 month appointment (a couple weeks late this time due to travels....) today. She was all smiles for the nurse.....that is until the nurse decided to give her a shot! Her face turned bright red almost instantly. But a minute or two later & sucking her paci, all was fine with the world again! She got to check mark all the doctor's questions.....crawling (yes!), pulling up (yes!), cruising (yes!), clapping/paddy-cake/peek-a-boo (yes!), responds to NO (well....sometimes!).

She encouraged me to continue feeding her the foods she doesn't like & especially table food despite the vomiting (sounds like fun to me!), so we don't have a picky eater in years to come. She recommended that I mix pureed food with the real thing in increasing amounts. So, at lunch I did a banana baby food with bits of mashed up banana. She gagged. Luckily, not to the point of vomit. I can tell this may take some work to get her to eat real food. Eating has just never been easy with this child. But, luckily its not holding her back in the weight category - we were okay on that front. Still small, but on the charts & given her gene pool, that's about what we'd expect. So, without further ado, here's her stats from today:
  • Height: 27 1/4 in (25%)
  • Weight: 16 lbs 4 oz (10%)
  • Head: Can never remember the measurement, but proportionally it's big - 50% !!
In other news, new favorite pasttimes for little Mackenz include banging on a pot with a plastic spoon (thanks for the suggestion Claire!) and using her pointer finger to point at stuff. It's pretty cute :)
