Mackenzie is 5 Months Old Today!

Hello Everyone! Long time, no write! I know you're wondering what I've been up to.....so I'm gonna tell you :) I turned 5 months old today! Can you believe that? Of course Mommy can't! She said it's just one month away from being alive for a half of a year?!?!? I'm really getting up there!

I am slowly getting bigger. Everyone seems to comment on how small I am, but I try to remind them that I'm still a lot bigger than I used to be. I'm FINALLY starting to outgrow the 0-3 months clothes & get into 3-6 months. Mommy says I'll probably wear 6 months clothes til I'm like a year old (I think she's exaggerating though.....that growth spurt will come one day, maybe?).
.
Everyone also comments on how active I am. I LOVE to move. Always have!! From the beginning - the car, stroller, swing were my most favorite places. This month, I added the ability to move myself in the form of rolling. I roll both ways - did it a day or two after I turned 4 months old. And haven't stopped since. I actually use it as a mode of transportation (as granmommy says!). I love to bounce in my exersaucer. Good thing mommy got one that bounces when I jump! I also like to stand up and 'dance' while someone is holding me. My most favorite time to do this is right before a bath when my clothes have been removed and I feel free!!! (Mommy has started singing 'Dancing Queen' to me while I do a jig. Such Fun!!!)
.
I still love to make noise, but lately I discovered how to squeal and I do that ALOT!! Mommy comes running when I do it because squeals can be happy or mad & she can't tell the difference. Sometimes she looks down at me when I squeal really loudly & sometimes I just smile back at her! HA - she's wrapped around my finger! Speaking of which, she says this month I've become a serious mommy's girl. Sometimes I don't even want daddy to calm me down. Only mommy will do. She likes this, but says it's tiring and wants me to be able to be held by others easily. That's okay though, she says, because one day I will & there are far worse problems than wanting to be held by my mommy! Oh - and one day she'll miss holding me, so she tries to remember that when I insist on being held by mommy!
.
I have slowly started to accept food delivered in the form of a spoon. After the first sessions ended quickly in tears, mommy read somewhere that using your finger as a spoon is helpful. So, we did that & I did better. We have now moved from that to the spoon and I take the rice cereal much better. A few times I've actually eaten a tablespoon serving. Mommy says she's in no hurry to feed me all sorts of foods. We're just working on getting this spoon thing down and when I show more signs of wanting more/being hungry she'll add some other foods this month. Oh yeah....no teeth yet! We'll keep you posted on that!
.
Well - I guess I'll sign off for now. That's alot of updates for you folks. Here's some pictures mommy took of me in my christening gown today. Aren't I cute????
.
Love ya!!
-Mackenzie
