What a Weekend!

We had quite a fun weekend. We were invited by our friends to spend the weekend at their parents' mountain cabin up in North Georgia. Upon arriving, they turned on the heat and we got busy unpacking and letting the girls explore the territory. After an hour or so, we began to notice that it didn't feel any warmer!

So, the boys went outside to check on the furnace. And sure enough, the furnace was not working. So, they get the manual and start to trouble shoot it. They figure out that they need to get the starter light (pilot light?) going to get it going. But the filament that sparks is not able to get it going. They wanted to then take a match to it (after they informed us the manual
said NOT to do that) but we somehow managed to keep them from doing that! Then, while inside, they realized that they also couldn't get the stove gas burner to light, so they realized we were out of propane! So, we had to start a fire and bundle up for the night!

The propane folks did come the next day and got our heat going again. We went into town and enjoyed our day shopping & eating in the little mountain town. Then, we found a farm where Mackenzie go to see & pet some horses, cows, & of course dogs! We headed back to the cabin to relax for the evening. We cooked some dinner, got the girls down in their beds, & started a movie. About 30 minutes into the movie......the power goes out! We couldn't believe it!! And to top it off, we had used the last of the matches making our fires when it was so cold in the house the day before! Luckily we had some flashlights, so we got those out and just talked for an hour or two. Just before we went to bed, the power came back on! Which was nice, because it would've been another cold night since we needed the electricity to blow the heat.

So, it was a crazy weekend. But we still had a ton of fun. It was so neat to see Mackenzie get to have her first sleepover with a friend. She was so excited to wake up and see Mady Kay each morning and hang out with her all day long for a whole weekend! She was definitely a tired little girl from her full weekend of fun!
