Weekend Recap

Once again, it's been 3-4 days since my last post.  Oh well, maybe I just need to accept that as my new standard.  Anywhoo, we had a fun family weekend starting with a date night on Friday night for Mommy & Daddy (YEAH!) and then a full family day together on Saturday.  We started out with a shopping excursion to see if we could find some jeans for daddy in Little Five Points.  No luck & after learning that kids aren't allowed at the Vortex, we found our way to Five Guys where Mackenzie enjoyed some greasy fries & burger bites!  We had planned to go to the GT tailgating with some friends (even though we opted out of the game....$85/ticket plus babysitting.....ummm, no!).  But since the weather was drizzling and cold, it didn't seem like the best weather for baby tailgating, so we went on down to visit our friends, the Gardiners, so we could see their new little baby boy, Jackson.  He was born about 2 weeks ago, but due to the continued sickness infestation at our house this fall, Mackenzie & I needed to wait out a cold before heading down to see them.

We hung out for the rest of the day, had dinner & watched the game at their house.  It was fun
getting to hold a newborn, and I was pleased to see that Mackenzie was not really jealous of my holding another baby.  It's probably due to her rather independent personality - she'd rather explore the new territory than be held by mommy anyways!  She enjoyed checking out the baby periodically and got to do things like be whisked around the room in a laundry basket by Jackson's grandmother.  We were pleasantly surprised to have our team win out over Va. Tech (YEAH!!!), which made for a delightful ending to our visit!

We ended up going cheap, $40 per ticket and trade off babysitting with our neighbors(free)! Wish you were there to keep me warm HA! Love this little guys hair, wOw. Tons of it for a newborn. Ansley is adorable and we will continue to keep her in our prayers. Love her outfit too. P.S. The weekend before last we went to little 5 pts. to hit up Vortex only to find out "no kids"! Ahhh, we should have talked.
