Easter Weekend in Alabama

For Easter weekend, we went down to see our friends Austin & Amy & their new baby boy, Brandt. These are some friends from our old community group who moved back home to Fairhope, AL about 2 years ago. We hadn't been down there to see them (terrible, I know!), and they moved into a new home last year & welcomed Brandt in February, so I knew we needed to get down there! We had hoped to swing by Tally to see grandparents on the way home, but it was too much, so we just stuck with Alabama for the weekend.

We had a great time - Brandt is such a cutie & looks SOOO much like his daddy! He's also so tiny - made Mackenzie seem like such a big girl, which is rare for her! I drove home just how much she has changed in just 5 months since she was his age. He's still at the age where he sleeps so much & hangs out in the swing alot - I remember those days! Things have definitely changed!
We went down to their church egg hunt on Saturday morning even though our two little ones are not quite able to participate, but Mackenzie had fun looking at all the big kids do their thing! She got to wear her little Easter bunny outfit from her granmommy :) Then, we went to downtown Fairhope (cute little town) for lunch & walked around. And in the early evening we went down to the bay & walked out on the pier. Which was very cool - there was a pelican that was very tame, just hung out waiting for fish to be tossed to him from the fishermen I guess? He let you get real close & would just pose almost for the camera. Mackenzie was into all the birds at the pier - mostly the loud seagulls above, but she did see the pelican after alot of encouragement from her daddy. But it just sat still, so I think she liked the flying birds better. We just love watching the curiosity in her grow & seeing her mind take it all in - you just know she's learning so much minute by minute.
