For all my worries about her eating habits early on, my little girl has developed a pretty decent appetite. Here's a few food funnies that have happened recently:
- About a week ago, I packed a lunch for each of us to take to a pool playdate. My lunch included an apple & I think I probably packed grapes for her fruit. But at the pool, she saw my apple and started saying "Apple??". Up until then, I had cut up her apples for her. But I had no knife. So, I gave the whole thing to her. She ate a good 10-15 bites of the apple like a big girl! I wish I had taken a picture though......her bites didn't connect, so it looked like her apple was polka dotted with bites! Oh - and periodically she would hand me a piece of the peel and say 'dirt'. She's not a big fan of the peel apparently, so if it easily comes apart - out of the mouth it comes! Here's some shots of her eating an apple at home a few days later :)

- This weekend, we've been at my parents. My dad & I were eating dinner with her tonight and gave her some corn on the cob - one of her favorite vegetables as of late. She took a few good bites, but started slowing down sooner than normal. She requested some butter as she'd seen her grandaddy butter his corn (hers wasn't buttered). I obliged to get more corn in her body. But after getting her corn buttered, she proceeded to suck the butter of the cob & ate no more corn. Then, after she had gotten all the butter off she asked for more. When we told her no, she tried to hand my dad her spoon saying "Butter??". Seems she wanted a spoonful of butter for dinner! HA!!!
- Hummus has always one of Mackenzie's favorite food (not just dip, as she will often eat the hummus straight and not eat whatever I gave her to dip in it!). She did eat a few crackers the other day as a vehicle to carry lots of hummus into her mouth! And I snapped a few photos!
