I feel like I'm doing a bad job lately on recording Mackenzie's learnings & sayings. I've done a terrible job of video taping the last few months. Really bad. And the blog is hard to keep updated, so when I do, it's with the big events that have lots of pictures, and I forget some of the little stories I want to remember forever. Anyways, here's a few things I've been wanting to record:
- Her vocab is expanding daily & it's so fun to have conversations (well, sort of!) with her! A favorite thing of mine that she says now is if she wants something, she lifts up her hand twisting it back & forth saying 'one?'. I guess us always asking, 'do you want one', made her just say 'one' if she wanted it! Funny (& smart!)
- She's working on learning her colors. Her favorite (at least to say) is 'Geen' (green). I began thinking she wasn't ready for colors because everytime I asked what the color of something was, she pretty much said 'geen'. But now if I say 'no, try again', she gets it right on the second try a lot of the time. Not sure if the first time is a reflex answer and then the second time I ask, she actually thinks about it?
- Her behavior has improved greatly since her communication skills are vastly improving. Now when I want her to go somewhere/come with me - I simply ask, 'Do you want to walk by yourself or do you want Mommy to carry you?' Most of the time, she replies 'Wock'. And then proceeds to walk where we are going or leave if we're leaving. Apparently, being carried is no longer cool & it's enough to get her moving! It cuts down on a number of embarassing tantrums where we used to leave a playdate/playground and I'd just pick her up resulting in screams & hitting! Glad that this has improved alot. (Though there are definitely still those moments too......but fewer & farther between).
- Her little feminine side is shining through & she likes to mimick her mommy. When I'm putting on makeup, she wants to do it too. I give her little bits of moisturizer and she rubs it in while I do mine. She likes it when I dab her nose with my powder puff. She goes in my closet and puts on all my shoes. She almost always wants a purse to carry with her when we leave the house. And she enjoys wearing a 'neck' (necklace) and any other accessory she can get her hands on!
