Mackenzie is 8 Months Old!?!!?!?

Hi Everyone! I'm back for my monthly installment to keep you updated on my life since I know you are all interested! This past month has been a good one because I finally mastered this crawling thing a couple weeks ago. At first, mommy thought it was so cute watching me crawl because I couldn't make it but a few steps before tiring out & landing on my belly. But it didn't take me long - now I am EVERYWHERE!!! She says her life will never be the same :) I think that's a good thing?

I also started pulling up and have even taken a few (wobbly) cruising steps while holding onto the couch. I still need someone right behind me because I tend to topple over backwards from time to time. Got some room to grow in this area still, but it won't be long. Mommy is wondering how long she has before I walk since I seem to really enjoy being on my feet. I'm gonna keep her guessing! We did have to lower my crib tonight because I started pulling up on that & Mommy didn't want me to get out (she's such a party pooper....oh wait, I think I'm the pooper?).

Mommy says my personality is really starting to blossom. I love to play peek-a-boo, get tickled, and be played with all the time. Those around me just love to hear me laugh these days. Mommy also enjoys my ever-expanding set of facial expressions. All these things make her realize that I am becoming my own little person (which also scares her because before long I will want to assert my own independence.....). And one not so fun thing for Mommy is that I now realize that she sometimes takes things deliberately away from me (previously i thought they just disappeared). I like to express my disapproval when she takes things such as her cell phone, the remote, her keys, etc.

I'm growing nice and big these days. Mommy is really noticing that I am a bit heavier to hold so she's pretty sure my weight gain issues are long behind us. I'm not the biggest eater & tend to be a bit picky with the veggies, but that is also improving. And I'm still a good babbler, but lately I really like to make more gutteral noises with my mouth closed like "hmm". I did finally add "M" to my list of consonent sounds, so Mommy is happy about that but I'm not sure I understand why.....
