Prayers Answered

A few weeks ago, I received some upsetting news. After routine bloodwork was taken for some pregnancy tests, my results came back to tell me that I was a cystic fibrosis carrier. I was shocked because I don't know anyone in my extended family with this disease. Because I was a carrier, Brannon had to be tested. If we were both carriers, then there would be a 25% chance that the baby would have the disease, which is a terminal disease - although after researching the disease at http://www.cff.org/ children with this disease live a lot longer than they did even 10 years ago, with a median age in the mid-30s. Anyways, as you may have guessed from the title to this post, Brannon's results came back & he is NOT a carrier! :) God answered this prayer of ours, and we are excited that our baby is healthy in this particular area. Of course, I know there are still many unknowns, but we are grateful for this blessing.
